First viewing, Valentine's Day 2009. I was reading a review on Amazon for Persuasion, 1995. At the very end of the review, the writer recommended a few good romantic movies. North and South was the very first recommendation. I checked it out at my local library on Friday and by Sunday, I had ordered it on line.I watch parts of it every evening. I especially love the part when Thornton (RA) has a heart to heart talk with his mother about his love for Margaret(DDA)just before the proposal, my heart skips a beat every time I watch him almost cry! WOW, I'm truly hooked.

Hello, out there in the world of the NaS obsessed! I'm so happy to have found your site- It's sort of like an AA meeting where everyone understands (and revels in!) the same addiction. What an enjoyable website! I've been laughing myself silly, and am proud to report perfect scores on the tests on the video- not so much on the book, which I have read, but not memorized like I have most of the production! Kudos to all involved in the website, and long may North and South - and especially Richard Armitage- rule!

I absolutely love this movie..... I found a clip of it on Youtube while watching snipets of Pride & Prejudice. I then found the movie on Netflix and watched it instantly. I do not believe it has been broadcast in America.... Richard Armitage is delicious and his angst is palpable on the screen. MMMMmmmmm! Yummy.

I found N&S on utube in Oct 08 & the obsession began. After viewing 3X I had to get the book. Have searched out other works of RA.. I have enjoyed the fan sites as this - and the exceptionally talented vid artists. They are amazing. Have loaded some onto my ipod so I can get a fix anytime - anywhere lolgringringrin

I always wondered who were these two characters as I looked through the videos on youtube. I'm so glad I clicked on the first video. This led me to the entire video which a fan lovingly uploaded for us to enjoy onto youtube.

The last scene always makes me cry because it reminds me so much of me and my husband. Isn't it wonderful that characters in a book are able to help us appreciate our loved ones?

The acting is superb, the screenplay is excellent. The care and research that went into filming the series.

I received the North and South DVD for Christmas and couldn't stop watching it. I stayed up until 2:30 a.m., telling myself, "Just one more chapter," until all 4 were watched. One of the best, most compelling miniseries that I have ever seen. In addition to the wonderful romance, I love how there are no bad guys or good guys, just "real" people.

I am newly obsessed with North and South and Mr Armitage.. Have read the book 6 times, and seen the video too many times to count, Would love to find an analysis of the story. I think that Sandy Welch's screenplay is an amazingly beautiful ,and compelling love story that I have to cry when it is over. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the story went on?

I watched North and South on Netflix today and fell in love with the characters, the plot, in short, I could find no fault with this movie--only that I didn't want it to end.
